occupational therapy eval this week but thought i would get a jump on it and start my socks....i never knit with 4 needles before but after a few youtube videos and then doing the opposite (i'm a lefty) got it going! i hope this will awaken the sleepy nerves in my arm/hand/fingers...and that the socks fit of course!
what else? dug out this kaffe puzzle i've had 4-5 years...with a couple of weeks ahead still thought i could get it done...i think i had about this much done the first attempt....i can only do this in short bursts...makes my eyes cross...LOL!
these diversions are keeping me mostly calm from the drama at the apartment complex....i've said all i'm going to say, they'll either do their job or they won't.
weather is superb....cool nights with cozy quilts, 70s daytime with breezes and sun....anxious to be free of the vac but nurse says will easily close up the wound entirely and graft won't be necessary. since it's a question of major inconvenience now versus pain and suffering later, choice is simple.
i have a couple of free streaming services and unearthed a couple of good movies that you might have passed over....one is "the ghostwriter" and the other is "georgetown", the latter based on true events...and i finally saw "where the crawdads sing"....and one more, "small things like these"....stars cillian murphy as a man who needs to choose between head and heart....have a blessed day...

Yay! A companion on my sock journey. The Double pointed needles are ok once you get your head around them. Love that puzzle, so bright and Kaffe. I do hope the building super comes to the game..
ReplyDeleteI loved learning to knit with four needles. It made me feel smart. I know that's silly but it gave me confidence. And then after doing lovely even stitches. . . the heel appeared. I never mastered that. I wish I had had a live/sitting-next-to me teacher because I know it was doable. Love the puzzle.
ReplyDeleteI’ve just been catching up on your last few posts. I hope your sock knitting goes well. I’ve knitted two pairs now and did enjoy it. The jigsaw is a lovely bright one. It must be fun to work on, if only in small bursts. I recently read the book “The Ghost Writer” and enjoyed it. It would have made a good movie. I hope your PT goes well.
ReplyDeleteKnitting is EXCELLENT Occ Therapy! Your therapist will be pleased :-)
ReplyDeleteThe knitting will be good OT and you'll get a sock or two out of it! Thanks for the movie recommendations.
ReplyDeleteI've written down the movie suggestions. Yes!! The knitting is such a good therapy tool, and one that is productive on numerous levels. You're doing great! That puzzle is stunning, but it might make me cross-eyed too. ;) Sending healing hugs~
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to add some knitting to your therapy!
