Three Cheers!!!

for the red, white and blue....

ignore the politics, blustery rhetoric, partisan wranglings and just bask in the freedoms and the sacrifice of those who have made them possible for nearly 250 years....researching my ancestry gave me a greater appreciation of ordinary people who did extraordinary things to protect their livelihood that led to the formation of our republic.  they could not have imagined where their actions would lead.  hoping you take a moment to reflect on all that independence means and how important it is to preserve a government of the people, by the people and for the people....

be patient disgruntled and dissatisfied Americans...from ev'ry mountainside, let freedom ring!

a new challenge!

Deana has selected item #9 for the July challenge....my #9 is designing a small whole cloth quilt and getting it going--however, since i am struggling to finish 'wildest dreams', swapped #9 for #1 which is....

A is for Alaska....a gorgeous pattern by Edyta Sitar...was gifted the templates and i've got the pieces cut and sorted into baggies...a project that needs attention!

the baggies are stuffed into a project bag...it's the perfect take along project...i know it won't be anywhere near the flimsy stage, but if i can finish a few of the block baggies (4 to each), that'll certainly be progress...

since it's now officially july and the hottest maryland month, have been working on those christmas stockings for the church fair...my homework is to complete 5 before next meeting, july 11th...

in the baggie of scraps were several twosies and hoping there are enough scraps to make a couch throw the center can finish and sell...at some point it should get cooler here....

and will close with a chuckle for you...

Be cool and sew on!

goodbye june...

now only 90+ days to cooler temps...LOL!  it WAS a stressful week for so many under the dome...

did manage to complete this goal.....

the tan triangles have (almost) left the building!  that means every time the elfa drawer is opened, they won't be staring glaring eyeing at me waiting to be used....audible sigh!

all that remains are some small solid pieces and a few cherrywood scraps in dark amish colors...stash is really getting busted here....

and with this flimsy finish.....

the chookshed june challenge is completed....with 4 challenges left in 2025, waiting to see which deana draws next....

as for me, dreamily imagining days at the shore, sand/salt/surf close by...this yankee gal was not made for these horrific hots

when i tell people i came from maine, they always say  "ooohh it's cold up there"...and thank God for it I say...one can always add clothes but not much can be shed to be comfortable in this weather.

time to make the weekly to-do list and some vacation prep tasks...first up is sleeve and label for my Maine Quilts entry...always thankful for the sustaining care God provides each and every day...
