whew.....been a very long time (april 18th) since i've slept in my own bed but a 2-hour nap was the perfect way to begin...on my arrival from maine fell in the driveway and fractured left hip, bruised left knee. off to hospital for open reduction and fixation then a brief but ghoulish stint in rehab. tops on my prayer list from now on are those in places without any voice or choice of their own. it is the 21st century version of a vile prison i do believe. thankfully my regular exercise served me well and due to my cardiac situation that was completely ignored, got sprung quickly with home care and assorted adaptive doo-dads. in my huge pile of waiting mail was this...
a bright layer cake by tula pink....i seldom buy precuts but a friend made a butterfly quilt with one and it caught my eye and of course, these fabrics will make it wow! thanks joe....LOL!
while in maine some sewing was done and happy to report that four of my jan patek nativity sections are now done....i didn't have the lamb legs with me or they would have been completed as well...but close enough and good progress.
lastly, dedicate this brief post to all my family....being a single without a close faith community and during the pandemic, they held me up, kept me going and in their prayers....it's been an awful 18 days recovering. they sent these to me ahead of mother's day...dear daughter and son-in-law were and are my local angels....again and again God blesses me with His favor....

Welcome home -- for sure, this time!
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry that you fell. I wish you a very speedy recovery
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty bundle of fabrics!
ReplyDeleteYour nativity blocks are very precious.
I am glad your family has been supportive of you! Rehab places are no picnic.
I'm so sorry to hear about your fall and broken hip. What an unhappy return from vacation. I hope you continue to feel better and are back to your usual health soon.
ReplyDeleteYour Jan Patek blocks look great!
Glad you're home and on the mend. Looks like you've got lots of 'pretties' to keep your spirits up.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your injury! Sending you well wishes and healing thoughts....Hopefully quilting will help you pass the time during your recovery.
ReplyDeleteOMG that is not good but so pleased to hear you are on the mend.... Keep up the physio so very important and let yourself heal.... Glad you have some sewing to do while healing.....
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back at home. I can imagine how unhappy you must have been. I hope I never have a reason to go to rehab or assisted living but I have doubts I'll be able to avoid AL. I hope you spent a lot of time petting your fabrics and projects and all of the goodies in your home. Hope to see you back with FCQ Zoom tonight.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I thought you were absent from Blogland because you were still in Maine. What a nightmare. I do wish you a speedy recovery now that you are home. Hope you can do a little stitching to restore the soul.
ReplyDeleteNot quite but soon
DeleteI had a feeling that something happened to you. I read your blog nearly every day and i missed you. I am glad you are doing better. I'm glad you have fabric to pet, even if you can't sit at a machine yet. Hugs sent your way.
ReplyDeletethank you!
DeleteBless you, Grace! You have been at the top of my prayer list for patience and healing for the last two weeks. I have a great friend whose husband was hospitalized for an extended stint last year, instead of releasing him to home he was required to be "imprisoned" (his word) in a "rehab" facility (read: nursing home); luckily, he was able to be an advocate for himself but told tales that scared me to death (as I am sure you can, too!). Thanks be to God that you're home again.
ReplyDeletenot a moment too soon...wrong meds nearly administered twice, cardiac diet and coumadin management ignored causing further problems...thanks be to God for keeping me safe and always your prayers...
