  1. Beautiful statement. Thanks for posting it, Grace!

  2. I had the privilege of going to the DMZ in South Korea two years ago last winter. It was a very cold day which made it even better. I almost felt as if my father was right beside me, even though he has been dead for over 30 years. I am so glad to have been in those solemn places where so many young men went as boys and came back as men. The South Koreans are still so tremendously grateful for what American and 16 other nations did to keep them free. Our Korean friends came to see us last year. At the grocery store, they were chatting with a man behind us. He asked if they would talk to his father, a Korean War Vet. They hugged this man and with tears streaming down their faces, they told him, "You saved our country when we were too weak to do it ourselves. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." Of course, everyone who heard was crying by this time. I think this very elderly man never had a prouder moment in his life. South Korea has not forgotten and I do not think ever will.
