after an uber busy gap week when all manner of tasks got completed, time to get back on the sewing and quilting track. you've seen my list and while #3 was chosen, must work on the semiquincentennial project. would like to have ready for july but contingent on unexpected detours. the applique pieces have been cut and background chosen...i tried lots of different neutrals, but this one seemed the best. it's a muted olive green...not enough white on hand but not sure it would work.
miss sunny was oiled, lubricated and glammed up ready to work....we played with these....added 3 more on right side as afterthought...plenty of fabric of course...these are the tiny tumblers, about 2" height....
the stash shelves got re-orged as well....some uglies were pulled and are getting flung...the back wall is more visible now and re-acquainted with exactly what's on hand...jotted down some ideas to use more. top shelf left is a tote of all plaids/homespuns....on the right is shoebox with whites/muslin scraps and next a few commercial patterns i've saved...
the bottom shelf has finished things that are going on the closet shelf soon i hope.
that leaves this annoying situation...these are under the ironing table. some things to be basted, project bags with UFOs, precuts in plastic containers. box is poly stuffing. some will go on the stash shelves but don't think it will all fit...yet that is.
so the goal this year, as you can see, is....

Oh I like that saying! Let's all keep calm and quilt like mad! Happy New Year Grace!

DeleteLove those tiny tumblers!! You've inspired me to get cleaning up in the sewing room. I need to dig out some missing fabrics for projects, and just get things back where they belong.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Grace. Happy to see you on the first Zoom day. I was on very late the second day, so didn't expect to see you then.
thanks janet...wait'll you see the next post!!
DeleteThe Keep Calm meme is great! Your organization is already paying off. Love the tumblers. In contrast to your busy in-between week, I was nursing that cold...so the days coming up will be packed. And so it goes!
ReplyDeletemight be paying for it now...sniffles and chest congestion this AM....sigh
DeleteThe applique project is all ready to begin the race. You've picked out some great colored fabrics. Your shelves are full of tempting sewing ideas. It's always fun to start a new project. The tumbling blocks are so cute. I'm with you on getting rid of the uglies. There's no reason to leave them hanging around - they're just taking up space.
ReplyDeleteYou are very organised for the coming year. I like your Keep Calm and Quilt Like Mad. I need to follow that mantra.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, I am sure you will quilt like mad!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh.... Grace - that tumbler quilt is stunning. I'm bit of a Kaffe lover myself and your way of setting them out is fabulous!
