onward to 2026!

hope your Christmas was as enjoyable as mine....spent a few days with daughter and son-in-love just basking in each other's company, refilling the hugs tank....the best gift of all!  my gifts were sorta spread out thru december but i did receive a couple more.....

a lovely gift of handmade soap from a quilty peep...she is so creative in all she does!  a set of blueberry print flannel sheets was tops on my list and will keep me cozy!

now begins a week of tidying the apartment, culling unwanted stuff, a few sewing tasks culminated with deconstructing christmas...if i had space i would leave my little tree up laden with its lifetime of memories in ornaments...it's comforting altho a bit bittersweet to relive special moments and people represented by them...days already beginning to lengthen and soon harbingers of spring will appear, every day overflowing with thankfulness....and so it goes...

  1. I love to welcome January with a major clean out also! As soon as the Christmas stuff is packed away for another year!

  2. I, too, enjoy culling and getting reorganized for the New Year! Putting the tree away is always a hard one for me too. It's a task I do every year on Epiphany. Hugs~

  3. Janet is always so thoughtful and generous Special lady . . .
I love those sheets. I'm starting to put things away too. So many decisions to make because I'm changing where in the house I'm going to store everything. We could sure use a good snowstorm. Best to you in the New Year!

  4. Tidying up is happening all over the country I suppose, and that's so good because it means folks have made wonderful Christmas memories with friends and family. We're watching our little bit of the world slowly becoming ice-encrusted with winds increasing, a recipe for scattered power outages and a big mess of tree limbs and branches to clean up in spring.

  5. Your. Christmas Day sounds like it was wonderful. The days after are always a good time to reset and plan for the year ahead. We like to have everything packed away before New Year’s Day.

  6. I'm so glad you got to spend Christmas with family!!
Like Mrs. G., I leave my tree up until Epiphany. But in my sewing room I always have a tiny little tree up with ornaments from quilty friends (like you). I love that I can enjoy the lights any day of the year. My oldest daughter (whom you met) keeps strands of white lights around the edge of the ceiling in her living room, so she always has that glow.
I really need to follow your example and do a clean-up, but I'm too tired to think about that right now. LOL
