well begun

is half done right?  getting close anyway....my sewist heart smiled when seeing these on the design wall...

the tan triangles finally have a purpose....no more ugly pile relegated to scrap waiting room....i do like them a lot! anxious to make more, and it's a good project to focus on this week being way too hot to venture out.

lately busting stash is a lot like swimming against the tide....at friday quilt group this came my way...for the christmas stocking project in progress...believe there are enough Christmas fabric scraps for 100 stockings...we're only making 20...

and another quilty peep brought in a shopping bag of asian prints...i've never used them but honestly several caught my eye and somehow ended up in MY studio....

had previously received a book by  karen kay buckley of an asian garden quilt...could make a few blocks i suppose.... after all, the fabrics are soo gorgeous and should be showcased...quite sure you concur....

and this chuckle was found on instagram...i am a potato chip devotee and can fit the low sodium kind in my diet occasionally....

so it's a week to keep cool and sew on!

  2. Love the tan triangles with those colors.
Sometimes I think we have a sign on our forehead that says "yes, I'll take your scraps because I don't have enough of my own!"

  4. I smiled when I read 'swimming against the tide" ...we definitely aid and abet each other! Yes I also concur with your decision to showcase those gorgeous fabrics. And chips are my favourite of all snack foods, very funny!

  5. Nice HST’s and I can feel your pleasure at using up those fabrics. You are going to have fun with those Asian fabrics. We are in a heat wave here also and glad to have a/c to take the humidity out of the house.

  6. I think the tan HSTs with the plaids are a winning combination.
You have such good intentions of using up stash, and then unthinking people go and drop loads of fabric deliciousness on you. It's SO unfair! (LOL)
I do love the Asian prints. I snagged some another blogger was selling once, but keep vacillating on what to do with them. Maybe you will inspire me!?!
That is priceless about the potato chips and grapefruit. Hubby loves the fruit, and my parents ate it regularly, but I can bury it under an inch of sugar, and still the tartness makes me shudder! Hubby takes it straight!

  7. When you look at just the pile of tan triangles, they look rather uninspiring, but when matched with the bright plaids they look fantastic. You have a great eye for colour and design.
Of course you had to bring those Asian fabrics home to showcase them. They look beautiful.
Mick quite enjoys a potato chip, so I read your little funny to him. It made him chuckle.
