then there were.....

44!   my SMT  (scrappy meets thrifty) sew along blocks are piling up....

now that i see them on the design wall, thinking some sort of spacer block might be needed...so will play around and see what's in the stash....most of my time has been taken up with this....(bad blogger)...

the repro triangles top....final size is 66x90 so generous twin or double....the colors are a bit more subdued than this photo depicts...this is now off my UFO list as i am hoping to sell the top for vacation money...and in the nick of time, my chookshed challenge is done too!

a challenging financial week here in now 80s maryland....supplement health insurance took a $41 hike and the cable also went up $25....money out of the food budget....so had to cut the cord....2-3 streaming services will give me plenty to watch at way less money--alas, i had to sacrifice 'jeopardy'....but gained a few channels that i really like...

and couldn't resist this little chuckle....how things have changed, many not for the better but still there are blessings....summer is finally here!  have a blessed day....

  1. My mother called scarves like the one the woman's wearing "babushkas." Your scrappy projects are shaping up nicely. Sorry about the price hikes! (I just got the property tax bill....)

  3. Dating ourselves too, for even knowing that term! My Polish grandma and mom both wore them and somewhere there's a photo of me as a preschooler wearing a heavy woolen one and a way-too-small snow suit looking much like a stuffed sausage ... 😂

  4. I love those thrifty square in square blocks just as they are. So pretty. The whole world went and got expensive. I think many of us are looking hard at the budget and trying to find new ways to economise. Like you Tony and I have changed TV options as a money saver.

  5. I love the colours you've picked for your SMT blocks and great progress on your scrappy triangles. Yes, everything is suddenly much more costly, sadly. Love that window photo!

  6. The rectangle triangles really turned out well. I hope you are able to sell it. Life is definitely getting more expensive. Much simpler with the pre internet windows chat.

  7. I've been the budget buster these last 4 months--medical costs are dreadful even with insurance! Your quilting is gorgeous!
