that would be spring....altho it was 80s over the weekend, this week is 70s all the way...it was a quilty weekend for me since holidays don't really exist anymore...it's been hard to get out of the 'family dinner' mindset, a tradition most of my life, so i always plan other things to not feel abandoned. i never thought i would be spending my life alone without family at this point or any close BFF either, but...
here is progress on the scrappy repro top....
and last week attended the monthly "featherweight fellowship" at a new local shop...this was our project...
great for those things needed at hand...utilized a clear lucite stand-up frame ($1.14 at walmart) and some scraps (plenty of those)....took about half an hour tops...
skies are gloomy again but temps seasonable so it's all good...no summer clothes out just yet...life isn't perfect but still filled with many blessings....keep calm and sew on!

Keep going to those featherweight fellowship meetings and you might click with someone there. I know starting over at this stage isn't easy.
ReplyDeleteWish you could have joined me for lamb and asparagus yesterday -- roasted both and they were tasty.....I am a huge fan of split-rects units and I like the mix of large and small in your project.
ReplyDeleteDarling little holder for all your supplies.
ReplyDeleteThats a lot of triangles, and a cute caddy.
ReplyDeleteNice projects! Sorry you were alone for Easter.
ReplyDeleteI love all of the pointy patchwork!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the featherweight fellowship is a great place to meet others with the same interests.
I am feeling you on the family dinner thing. Its very weird to not have a lot of folks - I do have my hubby but still a strange feeling. I like your triangles! thats a lot of them. Enjoy the weather - we had 70 then snow.... strange!
ReplyDeleteI really like what you are creating with the scrappy repro fabrics.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere I have the instructions for that little "essentials holder"--I even bought the stand up acrylic frame, but I never got it made. It looks beautiful, and very handy!!
Sorry you have so much alone time. The featherweight fellowship sounds like a nice break from the alone time. Did you get in on Chooky's Zoom when Scrub Stitchin' was over? I couldn't make it.
Love your work.
ReplyDeleteYou have friends all over the world who delight in your blog.

I love the way your scrappy repro quilt is looking. Such nice rich colours, and the little stand up caddy is such a nifty idea. It will be ideal when you go to your next Featherweight Fellowship get together. They must be fun.
ReplyDeleteYes, keep busy. Great idea with the sewing caddy!
ReplyDeleteWay to keep busy--sewing, featherweight fellowship and blogging with all your quilt friends. Love the sewing caddy! It went together that fast?!
