usually end of august leaves me sad for summer's leaving but not this year...summer in the south sucks...period. leaves me longing for this...
i tell people winter can be quite beautiful with crisp air, glistening snow on fields and trees, the bright sun lighting up the whole world but they aren't convinced...it is a nuisance driving and plans do get cancelled every other thing, but i miss the defined change of seasons and different vistas that just don't happen here. we don't get any nice crisp autumn air either, summer just slowly morphs into dreary, quasi winter...
this weekend resulted in a flurry of different sewing things....first, baskets....down to 7, YES SEVEN! pretty excited about that....also worked on the bathroom wall quilt squares...nearly completed...
another sort of abandoned project (sense the theme here???)....row by row, remember those? i never went on a quest to get them all--not possible--but did garner a few and they, too, have been silently waiting for some attention....the time has come....one of my summer to-do things is to move this along. no rush on it but at least in the works...
did some zooming with quilty pals friday and always good to have friends visit while you are in pajamas...LOL....cardio visit went very well, things improving so cardioman happy. stocked up at farmer's market...mmmm delish! with cooler, drier temps have been doing more walking outside but curtailed when it's humid.
another monday, whole week to map out and see what can be crossed off the quilty plate. apartment inspection next week so some housework must be done. time to start the engine...have a blessed day!

I often remind people they can put on more clothes to stay warm in cool weather. But we can't strip enough to cool off in the heat! Well, at least without getting a ticket for indecency ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like winter if there is snow on the ground to make everything look clean and neat. Sometimes all we get is rain (not complaining - any moisture is welcome) but I call it a brown winter not a white one. I always look forward to fall. Not only do we get cooler temps but things seem to slow down too. Your projects are coming along nicely. Progress is always a plus. I worked on my brown bears paw quilt this morning. I must constantly remind myself to never make a brown quilt again. It just doesn't make me happy like red or yellow does.
ReplyDeleteHave a great productive week.
Always so much to see and so many things happening on your blog. I love to see your progress and I'm amazed at all of the projects you find in your UFO pile.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! Only seven to go. You can do it. It is a veritable treasure trove at your place, with all the little projects that keep appearing. It must feel good to have them finally see the light of day. The row along fabrics are pretty.
ReplyDeleteYou sure do have nice projects to sort out and work on. Seven baskets ..... yeah you!
ReplyDeleteYou keep things so tidy that I'm surprised that UFOs and WIPs keep turning up! The blue applique 'leaves' are especially pretty. I like the orphan collage, too.
ReplyDeleteI do like the star blocks! You are pulling out those orphans and creating a lovely arrangement for them!!!
