FYI

in case you wondered....the header photo was taken at pemaquid point in maine...it was my mother's favorite place to go and just sit and read....after my father died, she often went after work to just ponder, probably pray, and soak in sea air and sunshine.  when i was there, we always visited.  i wish i could have taken her more times.  the black stripes in the rock are called dikes, cooled molten lava...there is a lighthouse there and a lovely little restaurant.  the restaurant burned a few years ago but was rebuilt.  it is one of the many, many beautiful spots in maine, seldom over-run with tourists....no beach but oh the view.  lobster boats can often be seen hauling traps...if you love the ocean and get to maine, it is a must.

  1. My husband went to Maine many years ago for a conference (he was a governmental accountant) and he brought be back a miniature of Pemaquid Bell. I treasured that little thing 30 yrs. until it got broken. It's nice to see a piece of the coast near by.

  3. I do love the Maine scenes you share. I just got a little painting from my DIL, and it is of a lake in Maine where she camped with her brothers while doing part of the Appalachia Trail years ago. I've only been to Maine 4 times, but I have loved each visit.

  5. I'm coming to Bar Harbor, Maine the last of August. Are there must see quilt shops. We fly into Portland and will have a rental car. Is your "picture" coastline near us? Thanks for any help you can give.
