another week nearly gone and settling into a sort of routine sans vehicle...not happy about it but there it is. on the sewing front, miss sunny up and running again with a new belt...
purring along as usual....love this machine....keeps me close to my beloved mom...and may blues sewing continues with a scrappy project that needs to move along....
for a wee color detour, sewed up this summery runner that'll be gifted to dear daughter...long ago she spied the lobsters and asked for a runner....fast forward to now and it's a flimsy, soon to be machine quilted, bound and gifted. time gallops along and i am trying not to leave things undone.
and last but most important, my belmont baby, dear daughter, is celebrating another birthday saturday and again on race day! i've told her many times how i delayed my hospital run until the horse race was over! here she is at her first birthday...still adorable and so very precious!
keep cool and quilt on!

I love the look of your machine. I don't think I've ever seen one like it. Looks like something I would see from the 70's. When was it made? I'm glad it's up and running again. It's so satisfying to sew on a familiar machine and have it purr.
ReplyDeleteMiss Sunny = sunshine and scrappy batiks = blue skies! Happy birthday to DD.
ReplyDeleteIs that a sticker or a magnet on your machine? Either way, it made me smile because my daughters had christened my Viking with fairy stickers, and they did much the same for my Mom's original Bernina (circa 1950s). I still have both machines--with stickers intact.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great pattern for using up your blue batiks. Makes me think of whitecaps on the waves.
Nice tablerunner from the "lobstah" fabric.
Fun vintage family photos. Best wishes to D.D.
Love the blue piano keys.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that machine! I cherish my MIL's machine the same way, makes me feel close to her. In fact, I named that machine "Ruth". Your blues are cool and compelling and the lobster runner is as cute as can me. Somewhere in my stash I have a piece with lobster traps on it; I'll have to dig that out! Stay cool, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI love your Singer sewing machine - so cute!!
ReplyDeleteCute that you had to finish the races before going to the hospital. My mom had to finish painting the fence. My brother was born just 20 minutes after arrival at the hospital.
