a busy week on tap and with seasonable aka not oppressive heat, at least tolerable. spent my weekend doing quite a bit of sewing. the only house chore was do up the laundry. so what did i do? spent a fair amount of time quilting on 'midnight'....
i'm on the applique border now...the next one is those tiny churn dash blocks....since there are a gazillion seams in the remaining three, opting for simple but sufficient quilting. was hoping to finish before vacay but think it's doubtful, tho close.
the wedding quilt assembly line is in full swing....
pulled a stack of nickels from the tote, sewing them up in pairs, trimming to 4.5" and then into twosies then foursies...this isn't all i need, there are 66 blocks in all, but it's a good start to show the bride-to-be on her visit next week. next up is to cut 528 blocks from the gray 2.75" and 264 from the white measuring 4.5"...simple shapes but it'll be a pretty quilt.
took all my resolve to resist starting yet another new project....
amish buggy wheels by jean nolte in a 2010 fons & porter magazine....pulled it out for someday. have oodles of solid scraps that would be perfect, but working hard to stay on task and get something else finished first....it isn't easy i can tell you!
and this arrived saturday....
isn't that just the cutest little thing to hold all that candy before the ghosts and goblins arrive? i never get any of course, but might make it anyway. it could hold some bewitching scraps! designer is Kristyne Czepuryk.
today off to gym again to see how leg behaves. i've given it a stern lecture hoping i'll get my routine in. and this is haircut week as well...finally! only one medical appointment and some senior center doings, a new veg recipe and farmer's market stop. next week is shaping up similarly. not overly busy, just enough to keep from getting bored. hope your week ahead is equally enjoyable!
Midnight is so pretty! The treat container is cute indeed. Hope all the small things get taken care of expeditiously.
ReplyDeletethanks...yeah things get sorted eventually
DeleteYour Midnight quilt is gorgeous but what thrills my heart is that Amish Buggy Wheels pattern! Will need to go through the saved patterns from when I purged all the many years of magazines and see if I still have that one. Another for the to-do list someday.
ReplyDeletefons & porter nov/dec 2010...i caved and started it...LOL
DeleteYour quilt is so lovely. What a wonderful thing to be working on. I've made two wheel quilts and I'd make one more in a flash. It's a pattern I love for some reason. Maybe it's because there is so much movement and a lot to look at. I haven't seen this version before. I love reds, rusts, in the background. It really makes the other colors stand out. You're making good progress on the wedding quilt.
ReplyDeletethanks!
DeleteLove the quilt you are quilting and I love that little trick or treat basket.... so cute! Christine xx
ReplyDeletethanks chris!
DeleteYour quilting is looking lovely. Great to have a new magazine to read.
ReplyDeletethanks lou!
DeleteLovely handquilting! I chuckled when you mentioned in a comment above that you caved and started the wagon wheel quilt! You go, girl! LOL
ReplyDeletethanks rose marie...yeah i am a pushover for solids...lol
DeleteI feel your pain trying to stay on task. Sometimes there is success but not all the time. It look like you are doing a great job staying on task. Hope it keeps you entertained so that you keep working on it. Hum, halloween? ugh... haven't thought much about the next season. Still too hot. And, while you've been getting rain it is not getting us here for some reason. Sigh.
ReplyDeletequilting sounds better then washing...........hope the leg behaved at the gym.........
