in a word....pitiful. in order to complete the applique on ALL the baskets, would have to do something like 13 per day....nowhere near that i confess.
this is the same photo from last post as no way currently to upload a more recent one...anyway, no guilt on the lack of progress. spending most of the time traveling to and from HUGE family reunion, catching up on sleep, visiting with my dear family whom I miss terribly when in Maryland. plus getting re-acquainted with an "old friend".....the lobster! prices are reasonable so have been over-indulging....
we eat them like real mainers....no celery, lettuce, fancy aioli, celery seed....nothing, just plain lobster, bit of mayo on a toasted new england style bun. we think it's the best way! *** few more days and we'll be heading south to our beach for the remainder of my stay. it'll be cool...talking maybe high 40s sunday morning....but plenty of warm things on board and heck, there is always LL Bean if needed. so ocean photos to come!

That's EXACTLY the way to eat a lobstah roll; I'm right there with you my friend. Enjoy every delicious bite while you can!
ReplyDeleteyum, just yum, yum, yum. I will be doing a slam boil this weekend but now wishing for the lobster...eat one for me!!
ReplyDeleteAs a seacoast New Hampshire resident living close to the Maine border, I couldn’t agree with you more about the lobster! I like it even better plain, dipped in butter, no bread 😋 and have been indulging in this treat the past few weeks. Enjoy the rest of your time with family in Maine!!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to those ocean photos! Though it does sound like cool days for the beach. I've walked some cold and windy beaches in Maine.
ReplyDeleteHave to say, that back in 2018 when my son had a wedding reception in Massachusetts, I tried my first lobster--cracking it open myself and pulling out the meat, to dip in butter. I learned it was a sweeter taste than I cared for--though hubby LOVES it. So when we were in Maine last year at this time, he did lobster and I did crab and scallops. We were both happy.
Enjoy the re st of your wonderful vacation with family!
Such nice baskets. Hope your family reunion will be joyful and with everyone wanting to attend.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good trip and that the reunion was memorable. Welcome home! Love the baskets.
