yikes, june already??? here's the official goal for june, the batik splash now being quilted...
it's about 25% completed so june finish is do-able...and in case you were wondering...alive and thriving, newly repotted, mystery revealed...it's cilantro! and lazy hazy days of summer are here so time to think about another project...
from quiltmania, pervenche des toiles designed by france aubert...i've opted for 9 blocks only so should be finished in my lifetime...LOL....here are the tuscan-style fabrics have been hoarding for the right thing!
got these on the internet as a small bundle perhaps 8 or so years ago (not the far left neutral)...purposely did not cut into them for anything else. the main background will be the yellow paisley...but won't get officially started until more UFOs are done....so what else on june's list?
- 25 tiny churn dash blocks, 4"
- 43 not as tiny kaffe/MATO border blocks, 5"
- june mini (cut out to assemble today)
- mom's purse -- finish in time to travel in august
- finish secret project blocks and assemble top -- behind on this, no surprise
going to be a busy summer i do believe!
I think you have a pretty ambitious list there! You (like me) have a lot of time to fill so it's doable and all will be beautiful. I'm really looking forward to seeing MATO completed! Blessed Be.
ReplyDeleteWhat an ambitious list! I have every confidence you will accomplish it all! Happy almost summer!
ReplyDeleteBatik Splash is such a fun riot of color!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love cilantro, but don't use it much as hubby is one of those people for whom it tastes like soap. :(
LOVE your new project choice, and the fabrics are perfect!
You have a great list for June--the kind of list that would take me all year! LOL
That looks like a very colourful quilt you are working on. Is pervenche de toiles an EPP project?
ReplyDeleteit could be but i am planning on sewing it by hand...
Deletenice fabrics for your next project.......
ReplyDeleteYour cilantro looks very happy in the tomato can.
ReplyDeleteI think you're hand quilting your batik quilt. Do you find it challenging? The one time I tried it the fabric seemed to dense for the needle to go through easily, but maybe it takes a particular needle to make it easier?
You have a lot going for June. Love your Tuscan fabrics and the pattern!
thanks nancy for all the kind comments...i washed the batik flimsy before basting and quilting is quite easy...i wash my fabric when it comes in but with batiks, to hand quilt it needs another wash...
ReplyDeleteLove your batik splash quilt and hope you get it finished for your June OMG. Christine xx
ReplyDeleteme too...thanks!
DeleteYour batik quilt is just lovely, and I'm with you - how is it June already? How fun that your mystery plant is Cilantro. We call it Coriander here, and I love it, but I know lots of people that think it tastes like soap!
ReplyDelete*hugs*
