lots of sewing happened over the weekend....alas, no finishes but progress was made. got to the halfway point on this flimsy....
good thing i like this a lot as the sashing is fussy....my plan is to start the other half at the beginning and then sew two halves together...plus for once i bought enough of the sashing fabric and will be able to add a couple of rows to make it longer than the pattern....i think it is 57" square but mine will be big enough for a twin...
and probably you, like me, watched a lot of this....
the winter games are my favorite of the two (instead of summer) although i am definitely NOT one who plays outdoors in the winter. otherwise, whipped up a pot of spaghetti sauce, some cookies and soup along with the necessary exercise....fortunately spring returns this week so some put-off errands will get done. and of course, counting the days to see my mom and siblings again for some long overdue hugs!
Your blocks look good altogether there.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have it all planned.
great progress made on the design wall, enjoy the olympics
ReplyDeleteYour S'mores looks great! Are you using mostly scraps except for the brown/green sashing? I love both the colors and the pattern.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the winter games, too. I've read that so many quilters watch while they are quilting. I don't know how they do it. I seem to miss the big events (the jumps, the falls, the tricks) when I look down at what I'm doing in my lap. I have to either just watch or miss out on the best parts of the Olympics.
the sashing is a brown and i am using the same fabric for all...a jo morton
DeleteS'mores is one of those quilts that calls to me. I used to "Pin" them and pretend I would get them all made someday. I don't pretend that anymore. But I do really like your quilt.
ReplyDeleteYes, watching lots of Olympics, when I can. I, too, prefer the winter games, and yet I don't do any winter sports, either. Even as a child I was the first one back to the car with my feet up by the heater whenever our family went ice skating or sledding.
When do you head north?
apr 2nd...my father took me ice fishing once or twice but i mostly sat in the car with thermos of hot chocolate...
DeleteHalfway looks amazing! Are you using scraps or specific fabrics?
ReplyDeleteScraps of course!
