no room?

at this time of the year that phrase is heard often, but today it means no room for more 2.5" strips in the shoebox....it is JAMMED and then some!

spent part of the weekend tackling the scrap basket....overflowing don't you know...all the cut scraps got put away except these...looks like another shoebox will be called into service.  january's project is to whittle this down with a bunch of scrappy wishing ring blocks for a flimsy to donate someplace.  so that means the scrappy triangle top HAS to be done before month's end.  still quilting on the ocean waves but iffy for a december finish...so many triangles still to go.

holiday prep is nearly complete.  just a few gifts to wrap and a roast to order.  my charlie brown tree is up and all decorated with lights and ornaments that have so many memories.

it's  a very rainy day here...a few degrees cooler and it would be snow, but that is predicted for wednesday, like 8-14 inches....huh?  haven't seen that much since moving to maryland....a snow day?  first one here for me, but i know the drill....plenty of food, meds and TP on hand and of course, plenty of sewing projects too.  ***  the covid vaccine is en route and i'm in the high risk group so that'll be the most important and welcome gift of the season....

  1. Better get to the store and get bread, milk and tp - the holy storm trinity for Maryland.😀 In the before time, everyone in town would be at the store the day before a storm. It's really unbelievable.

  2. Your tree is beautiful. I am glad you are in line for the vaccine. I wish you a very Merry Christmas! I hope your snow lasts for Santa's team - wink!

  3. Such a pretty tree! I remember when a friend announced she was re-doing her Christmas tree, all in a particular theme. I was so shocked that anyone would abandon the ornaments acquired over the years!

  4. P.S. Scrappy wishing rings will make a lovely quilt.

  5. We are blessed to have a passion for something that keeps us productive and happy no matter the storms outside. Glad to hear you are prepared.
    Love your little tree.
Hubby is in the high risk group as well, and we are being told he will be able to get the vaccine in January. Thrilled to see it getting distributed to health care workers now!

  6. I'm drowning in scraps too; funny how one thing begets another. I'm eager for the vaccine but happy to be in good health and wait my turn. Your precious tree is so sweet. I'm more than happy to leave the snow days up north; but, a little white stuff does add some excitement to the season.
