corona-cation, episode 44

the dog days of summer have temporarily left the building....cool nights and warm, breezy days...if only this dang pandemic would evaporate!!!   it's a week of almost no diversions save for sewing, which can be tedious at times.  not with the triple irish chain, tho....i absolutely love this quilt...it soothes my inner 1980s newbie quilter when i swooned over all things traditional and amish.

i folded it lengthwise so it would fit on the design wall....until this happened....

one of the rules on the 9 pages (some get ignored) says no holes in the walls....and for the ones that are concrete, it's command hooks or nothing....trouble is, they dry out eventually and this happens...i've replaced several command hooks more times than i'd prefer and this one will follow.   i complained to the company (3M) and they just sent me more that do the same thing...ggrrrrr!

with september a mere two weeks from today, the august list is uppermost in my quilting goals...so the basting table is up and the ocean waves is ready to baste...i thread baste the old fashioned way...fusibles are a no-no for me and pins are not sufficient for a quilt that'll be moved around a lot.

backings for 2 wall quilts have also been found and they'll be next.   hand quilting of the plaid 9-patch stars is nearly completed and the ocean waves goes in the hoop next.   so cutting this short to get the basting started.....hopefully the busy work will relieve some of the corona stress....
