someday is today

we all have those things we want to get done "someday"....one of mine is this rug that needs repairing...

a long time ago in another galaxy, i was going to braid chair pads.  the wool and necessary tools were bought and i actually got one done--i needed 4--and then set aside for garment sewing, work, house maintenance, landscaping etc.   then i met a woman who actually made rugs, small ones.  we agreed to swap....the bag of wool with the one chair pad for a rug....the sewing of the braids has come loose in several places.  i love this rug and now have the time to fix instead of just vacuum around it....and then there's this....

the farmer's wife sew along flimsy....it's been at the bottom of the basting pile for far too long and been thinking about it....came close to tossing or giving away a few times, but i really like the blocks and realized it's the setting fabric i don't really like.   have decided to deconstruct and find something more to my liking in the stash....now that i have a lot more choices....finally, happy to say the basting blitz is finished for now with these 2 added to the quilting pile...the hexie stars and the scrappy "orange is the new neutral" quilt....

i had just enough pellon left for the stars, so that 3 yards is gone....the orange will be quilted with a large baptist fan stencil that came from a barb vedder giveaway.....hoping to get back to the machine today and tackle the "wildest dreams" stars....hoping to have joseph's coat ready to baste by end of month so can get it quilted in april....i shall conquer the UFO list!

  1. Wow, remaking the Farmers Wife flimsy is a huge undertaking. But I hope you'll like it better with a new sashing/border. The rug is well worth the time spent in restitching it. I have a little cotton braided rug that was begun by a then 90 year-old friend who wasn't able to do rug braiding anymore. I only added a few more rounds, then quit. It's a good size for right next to the front door, and I love it partly because it reminds me of Sue.

  2. I am impressed that your Farmer's Wife will undergo reconstructive surgery. Major undertaking! Are you thinking you want to go lighter or darker with the setting fabric?
Two great quilt tops ready to go under the needle. Those scrappy stars really brighten a room!

  3. I was diagnosed with PCOS and premature ovarian failure three years ago, and was told by my fertility doctor that I had little hope of having any baby, not only because of my relatively old age (I am 42). I had pretty much given no hope and had nothing to strive or opt for. As a last effort, my mother bought me Priest Babaka pregnancy herbal supplement and i drink it exactly as instructed 2 times daily and found myself holding a positive home pregnancy test in less than 4 weeks and 7days . It has been the greatest gift I have EVER received and a true life changer. Thanks to your supplement I am on the road to becoming a mother and I owe it all to you. " Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for your help..for inquiring or to order contact via email : babaka.wolf@gmail.com or Facebook at priest.babaka
