bad weather = great sewing

the snow queen passed us by, but cold rain and slippery spots made for a weekend of great sewing!

finished another 1.5 rows for this project....with 11 days left in january and only 1.5 rows to make, it just might get to the flimsy stage.  the rows need to be sewn together and the circles appliqued so it'll be close...am truly liking this more and more....it'll be hand quilted of course and will be a nice scrappy when finished....first, tho, have to go and cut more pieces.   it's a bad habit of mine, i confess, to start things without calculating the exact number of pieces needed.  i've reformed somewhat in that area but not entirely....

  1. Well, now that you are liking this again, I guess it is a good thing that no one took you up on it when you offered to rehome this project. It is looking great!

  2. The melon slices are delicious! Most often, for me, a quilt lets me know when it's finished. Too much cutting ahead doesn't always work out.

  3. Your present quilt is one of my "planning to" - I even have the templates. Yours is so lovely and I'm glad to hear you will hand quilt, old fashioned way! Also, thanks for your comment on my blog. Nice to hear from anyone who understands. 8-)))

  4. It's looking fabulous Grace. Doesn't it still strike you as magic somehow that so many different colours and patterns come together and look so good? How does that work!!
