a small one but done nevertheless...it's my thrifty hearts, so named as i found the precut hearts in a baggie at goodwill plus some plaid nickels and the white background fabric...only $2 so it had to be mine...
i had made 2 other small quilts with this find, one tea dyed and it's my mom's...the other got given away but this one i'll keep....and a belated christmas gift arrived the other day. a stashbuster member asked me if i would like to receive some things from a quilter who had to relinquish her stuff due to health reasons...i always feel a bit ghoulish as i can't imagine how difficult that must be. no doubt it is a very real concern in the back of any quilter's mind....the "what if" possibility....but have vowed to either use myself or share with others to honor the gift and the giver....
the book is needed for this fabric kit, which i've requested from the library...also included were several charm packs, 2 EPP starter packets, 2 layer cakes...all delightfully received and appreciated. it perked up my week immensely as it included a brief hospital admit, a couple of unexpected doctor visits, more prescriptions that discouraged me a bit. all is well now....not cardiac related but that will always be a concern... *** this snowy weekend dedicated to finishing a big quilt and moving on to the next UFO....
Love you’re little heart quilt. Hope all isn’t resolved health wise for a very long time! KEEP FIGHTing the good fight.

DeleteI love your heart quilt, Grace! You can't beat $2.00 for parts for a small quilt and the fun of making it.
ReplyDeleteYour plaid hearts are adorable.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you received a nice infusion of goodies for the stash.
Sorry about the health issues--glad they are resolved.
I can relate to your feelings about being given stash under these circumstances, but ... if you could no longer make quilts, I think it would gladden your heart somewhat to know that your stash was being passed forward to those who would use it and love it and derive joy from it. So, I hope it does bring you joy.

PS. Grace - I've just been on to Amazon. They have the book you need to make the quilt from that kit. The 'Look Inside' function provides you with some visibility of the pages from this project. I'm sure that you would still want to source the book through your library, but you could perhaps get an overview of what to expect of this project by having a look on the Amazon website:

DeleteWonderful small quilt just in time for Valentine's Day! so sorry to hear that you were in the hospital but hope that all is well now.
ReplyDeleteYour heart quilt is beautiful. I'm sure the Farmhouse Quilt will be fun once you get going, and the lady who gave it away will be pleased it's gone to someone who will make it. Thank you for linking up with the Peacock Party.
