my hexies....

are bigger than YOUR hexies!  but as you can see, they need to be for this amish honeycomb quilt top.  aren't these colors luscious and rich?  most are cherrywood hand dyes.  not sure what color thread i'll use yet.  the first border is navy blue and it may be the only border, not sure yet.  if so, i might use navy blue to quilt the whole thing.  the solid drawer was full so had to use some up.  this is a portable project with no set finish date.  there are a total of 202 whole hexies and 12 half hexies.  so if you see me on my next train trip, i'll be working on these.  **** today i finished pinning the triangles/corners for the feathered star and attached another row on orca bay.  and, today i was surfing blogs and saw a perfect quilt for all my repros, but something tells me i'm going to need at least a few patterns to make a dent in my newly-enhanced civil war stash.
