indeed and it's the last month of the chookshed challenge for the year....
i've failed miserably with my list this year....

6) alaska blocks one row done, other blocks pieced
7) vintage melon blocks/applique/baste DONE!

9) alaska blocks see above
10) red/green applique WQ top finish and baste still needs basting

in my defense, i did have a pesky eye infection that sidelined me about six weeks...and then july and august were spent sewing for the craft fair, which turned out worthwhile. and i ran out of flannel for basting that'll get replenished this fall some time....next year?
1) finish quilting the streak of lightning
2) baste tree of life, eagle wall quilts
3) work on 'alaska' blocks
4) finish 'wensleydale' blocks, assemble, baste
5) quilt amish wall quilt, already basted
6) quilt amish bar wall quilt, already basted
7) baste/quilt red/green economy wall quilt
8) baste/quilt baskets II
9) stash shelf reorg and pull scrappy pieces
10) catch up month OR design my whole cloth wall quilt and start quilting...
all this is fluid of course. not sure whether we'll be doing the craft fair again next year or not...ambitious list and would be awesome if all of it got done...better stock up on wheaties!!!

I know the challenge is supposed to be fun but I failed miserably at it the first year and decided I didn't need the pressure. Nor do I spend a lot of time stitching. So for me, I enjoy watching everyone else's progress.
ReplyDeleteYou may not have cleared out your Chookshed list, but you still had a busy time and achieved a lot. Even with a pesky eye infection.
ReplyDeletetrue enough lou and thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI think the fluidity of the Chookshed Challenge is it's greatest benefit. I must look at my list, although I have made some progress as did you. Well done.
ReplyDeletethanks a lot of what got done isn't even listed...so it's all good...
DeleteI maintain optimism: keep the focus on what's gotten done rather than what hasn't!
ReplyDeleteand i got a lot done that isn't on the list...so not a downer at all....
DeleteEnjoy the Fall activities!
ReplyDeletethanks...i love fall!
DeleteI am always impressed with all you DO get accomplished.
ReplyDeleteMonthly challenges are something I admire from afar. I know myself well enough to know I don't do well with them, so I just watch from the sidelines and get done what I get done. Like Denise, I don't need the pressure. So hats off to your successes!
just that my life is not taken up with family, trips, outside activities is all...there are days i don't sew but not many...thanks always for kind comments...
DeleteCongrats on what you DID get DONE. I purposely made my list easy to do. I have yet to start that fifth new quilt but I have so many options and a few squirrels have joined in the distraction.
ReplyDeleteI too make up a prelimiary list. Okay, I have the 2027 list already made ready to edit, change, post, and then ignore.
thanks...yes i did get a lot done but the list? nah....lol
