catching up

confined to quarters temporarily due to weather...so what's a quilter to do but surf the net?  i confess to spending too  much time on instagram, which lured me to this website...she was working on a simple black and white quilt on instagram but the pattern is not yet on her website...

this is just perfect for a certain gal with a shoebox full of 2.5" strips....there are plenty of ideas there for good scrappy projects....there you have it, i'm an enabler...

so did the housework get done?  but noooooo!  instead more of this--the tumblers is now a flimsy....

and nann, another like-minded enabler, showed some batik squares on her blog that sparked my mojo...i have some batiks (no surprise)...might try just one, you know, for research purposes...my squares are a bit bigger than hers tho....

there is a project for these that i might get to today.....used up 3 pieces of fabric with these...bit by bit it's going.....

and today, like every day, dreaming of days at the shore....

even in winter, the beach is never far from my mind....i thought i was writing this at 9 pm but nope, it's nearly 9 am....the hours are undistinguishable when it's gray and gloomy 24/7....wishing you a sunny and blessed day!

  2. I don't make resolutions anymore but if I did, it would be to spend more time quilting and less time online. You do find some great ideas but I just get sucked down that rabbit hole! I love all your inspiration and hope you get lots of quilty time to put them together! Happy quilting!

  3. Your quilt squares look very painterly. Nann is an excellent enabler! Seeing your tumblers flimsy made me think how lovely they might be made with batiks, of which we probably both have an abundance. Those scraps do multiply and burst out of their bins when we turn our backs!

  6. Who's enabling whom? I like the 2.5" strip design! And the tumblers sparkle.

  7. Years ago, when we lived abroad, January was the bleakest of months. I do recall that the announcement was made that there had been a dumb total of three hours of sunshine that month- and they all occurred on the same day! We became adept at distinguishing shades of gray. Lots of inspiration here today- you need not think of yourself as an “enabler” as much as an inspiration! Thank you for that!
