hello july!!

another oldie from the quilt archive....all was well until i used a yellow marking pencil for the quilting lines, and then it didn't wash out...lesson learned...tossed the pencil, kept the project for a while...it's been gone some time now....

and a new month means a new challenge!

not a new one but picking up one that SHOULD have been done before this....the semiquincentennial wall quilt...spent all of sunday, part of monday and tuesday doing applique....pretty sure in 10 years or so i'll be good at it...LOL...it's actually coming along faster than anticipated...timidity fueled procrastination but finally decided to have a go....

just the wings and remaining numbers to applique, then baste and quilt...
the what knot is a flimsy now

just waiting for basting; a day for this and a few others is penciled in...and a UFO just needs binding to be a finish....

saturday did some christmas sewing....daughter requested christmas placemats and whipped up these two....she chose the strings...made the chevron one to try out a braid for another project...followed bonnie hunter's pioneer braid pattern on her website...

OMG...half year point....got held up a bit with eye issue but thankfully mojo is in full tilt and dog days of summer here already...meaning days indoors with plenty to keep me busy.  always house chore of some sort but getting better at ignoring them...mini blitz cooking this morning, prepping some at-the-ready, no fuss meals......just counting my blessings as we, miss sunny and i, keep calm cool and sew on!!!
