thursday sewing

off and on today been sewing on that maine quilts project.  started out with 1/4 yard of the white print and 1/2 yard of the dark blue and this is what is left.  pretty discouraging i'd say....paper piecing doesn't use up a whole lot of stash by any stretch.  this will be a wallhanging and it is far from done, so will use up more of the fabrics that were set aside for this project.  and yes, it IS an official UFO so when it's done, another gets crossed off.  **** cold this morning and seasonable today with some melting of the hideous snow.  despite the winter feel, some of the seasonal places are starting to open on a limited basis, so that is always a welcome sign.  **** off to shower and settle down for the night with the quilting project.  idle hands, you know....

  1. Do you EVER have idle hands? I don't think so!

  2. Love your new header photo, I have some "beach" fabric that I may make a "Footprints" prayers stitchery with it, for now it is a "thought in process". I have been puttering and not getting much sewing done, but I will be going to the quilt shop in the am for an Open Sew. If you every feel the urge to come this way on the fourth Saturday the it's from 9am-12N and is only $5, great chance to sit and visit with fellow quilter. Will PM you later about the book.

  3. Wow! You have been so busy, my friend. These blue beachy fabrics go so well with each other. i love those big fat churn dashes, too. But the sweetest of all is that wall hanging for your cubicle at work! Good job!
